Dr. Ken Sakuda was born and raised in Okinawa, Japan. After high school, he came to Hawaii and completed his undergraduate degree in Biology from Chaminade University in Honolulu.
He then went to complete his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, CA. Subsequently, he completed a Podiatric Medical Residency from the Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center.
He then returned to Honolulu and started private practice specializing in General
Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He had multiple offices throughout Oahu and was
also a full-time instructor at Remington College for 11 years teaching their diploma
program for Medical Assistants. He now practices at the Kuakini Medical Plaza and
the Hawaii State Hospital.
Dr. Sakuda is board certified in Primary Care in Podiatric Medicine and has been in
practice for over 30 years. He is passionate about the care of his patients and have
developed long-lasting bonds with them. He believes in working out a plan to solve
their foot problems with close contact with family members and others in their
health care team.
Along with being qualified to treat most foot conditions, Dr. Sakuda has special
interest in prevention and care of diabetic foot complications, geriatric foot care,
treatment of ingrown toenails, plantar fasciitis and heel pain and sports related
injuries. He has been utilizing new and effective treatments with cold laser therapy
that often reduces or even eliminates the use of pain medications, especially
narcotics.
Dr. Sakuda feels blessed to be in Hawaii; to be part of this community and truly
appreciates and enjoys it’s beautiful nature. On his free time, he enjoys relaxing with
his family and dogs, and Thanking God for giving him the gift of healing.
He is also fluent in conversational Japanese.
